Great to be back on the blog again! Some changes - this blog will only cover the Evansville Tri-State region, instead of the state of Indiana.
Some news, an EF-1 tornado has been confirmed in Spencer and Perry counties from the Sunday morning storms. The winds with this tornado were up to 95-100 MPH along with a maximum width of 200 yards. The path approximately started a half mile south of St. Meinrad, Indiana and lifted 2.3 miles east of St. Meinrad in Perry County.
Things have dramatically calmed down since the storms we had to deal with this afternoon especially in Western Kentucky. In fact, a storm spotter in Owensboro recorded a wind gust of 61 mph which caused some 3,000 power outages! We are still dealing with some strong thunderstorms down in our southern counties, but those hopefully will fizzle out as the night goes on.
The story line for the next couple of days will be the low humidity, sunshine, and no threat of any major weather systems coming our way. Unfortunately, the heat and humidity will be building coming up this holiday weekend. Temperatures in the 90's are likely, and thunderstorms are possible on the 4th.
As for tomorrow, expect temperatures to be in the mid 80's, with some clouds in the morning clearing in the afternoon.

Heat & Humidity to Return
Good evening. Forecast for tomorrow will be a little bit more warmer out there with temperatures making it into the 90's tomorrow in our southern counties, 80's in our central counties, and around 80 in our far northern teer.
The story line for this weekend will be the widespread 80's & 90's and the muggy air that will engulf Indiana especially on Saturday. Forecasting highs in the mid 90's in the southern part of the state, upper 80's to low 90's in and near Indianapolis, and a bit cooler in the northern half of the state with temperatures in the low 80's.
We will begin to cool off just a bit as a weak front passes over Indiana Saturday/Sunday perhaps bringing a few thunderstorms.

Indianapolis: 87
Fort Wayne: 85
Evansville: 91
South Bend: 83
Gary: 84
