Hot with some Storm Chances

A hot and very humid day is currently taking shape across the tri-state region today along with a few storm chances. As of 11:30 AM CDT, a few scattered light rain showers were concentrated along and north of I-64. I expect a more healthy scattering of storms later today especially to the south as a frontal boundary pushes through the area.

The Storm Prediction Center out looking a slight risk for severe weather for our Western Kentucky counties today. The main threat today will be damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH. I expect storms to fire around 2 to 3 o clock range and move to the south as the frontal boundary pushes south along with it.

TROPICS: Tropical Storm Emily is a disorganized area of convection just to the south and east of Hispaniola. Emily is expected to weaken as it heads over the rugged terrain of Hispaniola and continue to the northwest and eventually become a minimal hurricane as it turns out to sea just off the southeast U.S. coastline. Tracks, images of the storm, etc. will be in the weather discussion after the blog.

Rest of today: Hot & very humid, temps in the mid 90's, scattered storms possible to the south
Tonight: A few clouds around, less humid, lows the upper 60's to around 70

Tomorrow: Mostly sunny, muggy, highs around 90
Tomorrow night: Clear, lows around 70
